South African golfer Casey Jarvis secured his second consecutive European Tour title on Sunday, claiming a three-shot victory at the South African Open in Stellenbosch.
The 22-year-old followed up his maiden win at last week’s Kenyan Open by maintaining his overnight lead through the final round, carding a three-under 67 for a tournament total of 266.
The victory was a hard-fought affair, as Jarvis fended off strong challenges from Spaniard Francesco Laporta, France’s Frederic Lacroix, and fellow South African Hennie du Plessis, who all finished in a tie for second.
The win carries significant weight for Jarvis’s career, as it officially qualifies him for his first-ever major championships.
By winning the historic title, he earned invitations to both the Masters at Augusta next month and the British Open in July.

Jarvis admitted that the prospect of playing in the Masters was a persistent thought throughout the day, describing it as a dream he has nurtured since he was 10 years old.
He expressed immense pride in winning his national open in front of a home crowd, calling the achievement “absolutely incredible.”
Despite his eventual three-stroke margin, the final round was far from easy. Jarvis faced constant pressure as the gap narrowed to just a single shot at various points during the afternoon.
His composure was further tested by a 25-minute weather delay due to the threat of lightning just as he was preparing to play the final hole.
Nevertheless, he remained steady, finishing with four birdies and only a single bogey to seal the championship.
Now established as one of the rising stars of the sport, the Johannesburg-based golfer is eager to test his skills against the world’s elite on the game’s biggest stages.
Having turned professional only four years ago, Jarvis’s back-to-back triumphs mark a meteoric rise in the European Tour rankings.
His next stop will be the iconic fairways of Augusta, where he will finally realise his childhood ambition of competing for a green jacket.
