Russia has announced a ban on aviation fuel exports until November 30, as Ukrainian attacks continue to affect the country’s energy infrastructure.
The Russian government said in a statement on Monday that the measure is intended to protect domestic fuel supplies and ensure stability in the local market.
“The aim of this decision is to ensure stability in the domestic fuel market,” the government said.
Russia mainly exports jet fuel by rail to Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The move comes as Ukrainian drone strikes continue to target Russian oil refineries and energy facilities, disrupting fuel production.

According to Reuters data, Russia’s diesel production fell by about 10 per cent in May, following another 10 per cent decline in April. Several refineries were forced to reduce operations or temporarily shut down after being hit by attacks.
Russia has already imposed restrictions on gasoline exports, and reports show that authorities are also considering similar measures for diesel exports.
The latest export ban reflects the growing pressure on Russia’s energy sector as the conflict with Ukraine continues.
