Israel’s Military Chief Warns State of Emergency May Continue

The head of Israel’s Defence Forces warned on Sunday that the country’s state of emergency could persist for a prolonged period as conflict continues to destabilise the Middle East.

In a video released by the military, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir said the nation should prepare for a lengthy period of heightened security measures.

“Israel has been under a state of emergency for two years; we must expect it to take much longer — patience is required,” he said.

His remarks come as tensions across the Middle East remain high amid ongoing clashes involving Israel and regional armed groups.
