Ghana President John Dramani Mahama will visit France on Monday, 6 April 2026, at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron.
Mahama’s spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, disclosed the information in a statement on Monday.
Ofosu said during the visit, President Mahama will attend the 2026 One Health Summit in Lyon and co-chair the High-Level Segment with President Macron on Tuesday.
The Summit convenes world leaders, health ministers, and global health experts to discuss global health systems, sustainable food production, and strategies to tackle health challenges, Ofosu added.
According to Ofosu, President Mahama “will deliver two keynote addresses.”
The first will be during a meeting on Global Health Architecture, co-chaired by President Macron and Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, where participants will discuss reforms to global health initiatives and endorse a Political Declaration on strengthening international health cooperation.

The second keynote will open the high-level segment for heads of state and government, where the President will outline Ghana’s commitments and views on global health security.”
The delegation accompanying the President will include the Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh (MP), and senior officials from the Presidency.
On Wednesday, 8 April, President Mahama will hold bilateral talks with President Macron at the Élysée Palace, focusing on strengthening Ghana-France relations and exploring cooperation in health, education, trade, investment, and regional security.
Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate, will receive President Mahama at the Senate House before the meeting at the Élysée Palace.
The President’s delegation to the Elysee Palace and Senate House will include Minister for Foreign Affairs- Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), Secretary to the President- Callistus Mahama, PhD., National Security Advisor- Prosper Bani, Presidential Advisor and Special Aide- Joyce Bawah Mogtari ESQ., and Ghana’s Ambassador to France- H.E. Mavis Ama Frimpong.
Mahama will return to Accra following the meeting at Élysée Palace.
