United States (US) President Donald Trump has accused Iran of violating the truce both countries had agreed to earlier in April.
“Iran has violated the ceasefire numerous times!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Tuesday.
The ceasefire is expected to expire on Wednesday, but both countries have yet to reach an agreement, and Trump has threatened not to extend the truce.
Trump had said on Sunday that he would send another delegation to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, for negotiations, led by US Vice President JD Vance, but it is unclear whether the talks will take place.
Iran’s state media earlier dismissed reports suggesting that Iran has sent a delegation to Pakistan for talks.

“So far, no delegation from Iran has departed for Islamabad, Pakistan; whether it is the main or subsidiary delegation, primary or secondary,” Iran’s state media said.
The US President has, however, said that Iran has “no choice” but to attend the peace talks.
Two major points of contention between the US and Iran are the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s nuclear programme.
Iran initially restricted passage in the Strait of Hormuz when the US and Israel launched attacks against it on February 28. Trump ordered a naval blockade on the trade route, claiming it turned back vessels from Iranian ports. Following this, Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz and said it would not open it until the US lifts its blockade.
Trump also demands the elimination of Iran’s nuclear programme.
