Substitute Felix Nmecha sealed the victory by scoring twice in the second half, capping his performance with a dramatic late bicycle kick.
The win gives Dortmund three consecutive league victories, marking their strongest start to a season in 11 years.
Elsewhere across the league, Freiburg surged to the top of the table after hammering Borussia Moenchengladbach 5-0, thanks to double strikes from both Yannik Engelhardt and Igor Matanovic.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen held previous leaders Augsburg to a 2-2 draw, and Eintracht Frankfurt earned a 3-1 away win against Mainz behind Can Uzun’s two goals and goalkeeper Noah Atubolu’s sixth consecutive penalty save.
Hoffenheim also claimed a 2-1 victory over Stuttgart, continuing an action-packed weekend of German football.
