Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has formally submitted his All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination form, signalling his intention to seek a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The form was presented on Monday at the Sheraton Abuja Hotel, where the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, received it on behalf of the party.

During the submission, Argungu commended the governor’s leadership, noting that his performance in infrastructure and human development had boosted confidence in the party’s prospects in the state. He expressed optimism that the governor is well-positioned to secure victory in 2027.

‎“The APC is proud to have a leader like you. Your impact on both infrastructure and human development in Kebbi State is evident.

“We are confident in your ability to secure victory in 2027. This is reality, not speculation” he said. 

Speaking on behalf of the governor, Deputy Governor Abubakar Umar-Tafida appreciated the party leadership for its continued support, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to ongoing development initiatives across Kebbi State

He added that the governor remains focused on consolidating existing achievements.

He also called on residents to sustain their support for the administration, assuring them of continued delivery of democratic dividends if re-elected.

Idris was accompanied by key party figures and government officials, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu, as well as former lawmakers Adamu Aliero and Yahaya Abdullahi.

The submission marks a significant step in the governor’s bid to retain office and advance his development agenda in the state.
