Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch has accused San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama of committing multiple uncalled goaltending violations during their initial playoff matchup.
Although the 22-year-old phenom recorded a postseason record of 12 blocks in the game, Finch contends that at least four or five of those defensive plays were actually illegal.
The coach expressed frustration that officials lacked a “heightened awareness” of the 7-foot-4 star’s shot-blocking tactics, noting that the points lost to these missed calls are highly significant in a close game.
Despite these grievances, Minnesota managed to secure a 104-102 victory over the Spurs.

Finch stated that the team opted not to file a formal complaint with the NBA, viewing it as a “waste of time” since it would not alter the result of the game.
Wembanyama, who was recently named the unanimous Defensive Player of the Year and is a finalist for the MVP award, remains a formidable obstacle as the Timberwolves continue the series against the favoured San Antonio squad.
