Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta credited the club’s passionate supporters for “setting the standards” after the Gunners secured a spot in the Champions League final with a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid.
The win at a rocking Emirates Stadium resulted in a 2-1 aggregate triumph, marking the club’s first return to the European final in 20 years.
Arteta praised the atmosphere, noting that his players immediately tried to match the energy and intensity provided by the crowd.
The decisive goal was scored in the first half by Bukayo Saka, whom Arteta described as a “special” player and a fitting match-winner for the club.
Beyond the performance on the pitch, the manager highlighted the immense unity within his squad, sharing that even players left out of the starting lineup offered their full support and hugs before the match.
Arsenal will now face either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich in Budapest as they chase a historic trophy double.

In addition to their European ambitions, the Gunners currently hold a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League, though they have played one more game than their rivals, Manchester City.
