International music star Shakira and Nigerian artiste Burna Boy have had their song “Dai Dai” selected by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) as the official song for the 2026 World Cup, to be co‑hosted by the US, Mexico, and Canada.
Shakira revealed a 67-second teaser for the track on Thursday, filmed at the historic Maracanã Stadium.
In the video, the Colombian singer, dressed in a yellow outfit with a blue skirt and sneakers, danced across the pitch alongside a group of dancers surrounded by footballs. The video ends with the camera zooming out, fireworks lighting up the stadium, and a message reading “We Are Ready” written on the roof.
She made this announcement on X, with a written post that states, “From Maracaná Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the @FIFAWorldCup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready! @burnaboy.”

The full song is scheduled for release on May 14, 2026. “Dai Dai” marks Shakira’s return to the World Cup anthem spotlight.
Previously, Shakira delivered one of the tournament’s most popular tracks with Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) for the 2010 South Africa edition and also contributed to the 2014 Brazil tournament.

The collaboration blends Latin rhythms with Afrobeats influences, promising a global sound for the 2026 tournament, which is scheduled to begin on June 11. The teaser has developed excitement online, with fans describing Shakira as the “Queen of World Cup anthems” while anticipating another hit track.
