The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle following the resignation of two commissioners seeking elective positions ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The development was announced in a statement issued on Friday in Asaba by the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu.

According to the statement, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Pat Ajudua, has been directed to oversee the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development.

The Commissioner for Housing, Godknows Angele, will supervise the Ministry of Youth Development with immediate effect.

Aniagwu said the reshuffle followed the resignation of the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, Orode Uduaghan, and the Commissioner for Youth Development, ThankGod Trakiriowei.

“They resigned to pursue their political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections. The former commissioners stepped down to contest for seats in the Delta State House of Assembly,” Aniagwu said.

The Commissioner for Works stated that Oborevwori appreciated the duo’s service to the state and wished them success in their political pursuits. He said that the new supervisory arrangements take immediate effect pending further directives from the state government.
