The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has postponed its presidential and governorship aspirants’ screening exercise to Monday, May 18, 2026, the party announced in a statement on Saturday.
The screening was earlier scheduled for this weekend.
“Furthermore, due to the security situation affecting some parts of Northern Nigeria, the screening of affected federal lawmakers aspirants will now take place in Abuja,” said Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the ADC.

The party said all affected aspirants will be duly contacted with the updated schedules and necessary details.
“We regret any inconvenience this adjustment may cause and appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all aspirants and stakeholders,” Abdullahi added.
The postponement comes amid security challenges in parts of Northern Nigeria, including recent school abductions and terrorist attacks in Borno State, where 42 students were abducted from a school in the Askira-Uba Local Government Area last Friday.
