Football Club Barcelona has completed the signing of player Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United in a deal reportedly worth up to €80 million ($93 million).
Barcelona announced on Friday that the England international had signed a five-year contract keeping him at the club until June 2031.
The 25-year-old winger arrives after an impressive campaign with Newcastle, where he scored 17 goals across all competitions, including 10 in the UEFA Champions League, finishing as the club’s leading scorer.
Gordon, who was part of England’s World Cup squad, is expected to strengthen Barcelona’s attacking options as the club prepares for the departure of veteran striker Robert Lewandowski at the end of his contract. The future of Marcus Rashford also remains uncertain following the conclusion of his loan spell from Manchester United.

Barcelona is still looking to reinforce its squad ahead of the new season, with reports linking Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid with a move to the Catalan club. The club has also not ruled out making another attempt to retain Rashford.
With the reopening of their partially redeveloped stadium, Camp Nou, and improved financial flexibility under La Liga regulations, Barcelona is expected to remain active in the transfer market.
For Newcastle, Gordon’s move represents one of the club’s biggest player sales, second only to the transfer of Alexander Isak to Liverpool FC last year after the club paid £ 125 million ($168m)
Newcastle is reportedly considering a move for Ez Abde of Real Betis as a potential replacement.
Gordon joined Newcastle from Everton FC in 2023 for £45 million, with the Merseyside club set to receive a percentage of the profit generated from his transfer to Barcelona.
