Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has said his administration has delivered about 90 per cent of the campaign promises made to residents since assuming office three years ago.

Yusuf made the claim on Saturday while receiving the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, during a Sallah homage visit at the Government House in Kano.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Director-General of Media and Publicity at the Government House, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor said his administration had recorded significant achievements across key sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, water supply, youth empowerment and economic development.

He stated that the government’s programmes and projects were designed to improve living standards and position the state for sustainable growth, adding that efforts were ongoing to fulfil the remaining campaign commitments before the end of his tenure.

“I am pleased to state that our administration has successfully fulfilled about 90 per cent of the promises we made to the people of Kano State within three years of assuming office,” Yusuf said.

“Our government came with a clear vision to improve the lives of our people, and Alhamdulillah, we have made remarkable progress in key sectors that directly affect the wellbeing of citizens.

“We are determined to complete the remaining promises before the end of our tenure. We will continue to sustain the pace of development and ensure that every part of Kano State benefits from our programmes and projects,” he added.

Yusuf also assured residents of the Rano Emirate that projects earmarked for the area would receive priority attention. He identified the expansion of the Karfi-Rano Road, the provision of subsidised fertiliser for farmers and the renovation of the Emir’s Palace among the projects the administration intends to execute.

“I want to assure the people of Rano that the expansion and dualisation of the Karfi-Rano Road remains a priority. We are also committed to providing subsidised fertiliser to our farmers and renovating the Emir’s Palace, among other projects that will improve the lives of our people,” he stated.

“We appreciate the patience, support and trust the people of Rano Emirate have shown this administration. We will continue to work tirelessly to justify the confidence reposed in us,” he added.

The governor thanked residents of the emirate for their continued support and confidence in his administration, pledging to sustain the pace of development across the state.

Earlier, the Emir of Rano commended Yusuf for what he described as notable achievements recorded within three years in office.

The monarch stated the completion of five-kilometre road projects in Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure local government areas, as well as progress on the Kaluwaiwai Water Project.

He also praised the governor’s role in facilitating the upgrade of the Rano Emirate Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre and the conversion of the School of Rural Technology, Rano, into a Federal Polytechnic.

The emir pledged the continued support and cooperation of the people of the Rano Emirate in promoting peace, security and development in Kano State.

“The people of Rano Emirate have witnessed several developmental projects under your administration. The road projects executed in Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure have improved transportation and economic activities in our communities,” the emir said.

“We sincerely appreciate your commitment towards the upgrading of Rano Emirate Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre and the conversion of our School of Rural Technology into a Federal Polytechnic. These are landmark achievements that will benefit generations to come.

“We assure you of our continued support and cooperation. The people of Rano Emirate will continue to work with your administration in the interest of peace, stability and development of Kano State and Nigeria as a whole,” he added.
