African Energy Leaders to Converge in Cape Town

The much-anticipated 2026 edition of the Africa Energy Week (AEW) will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, in October and will bring together energy leaders, investors, and policymakers, serving as a key platform for advancing Africa’s energy deals and digital partnerships.

According to organisers, the event is expected to move discussions beyond dialogue to concrete agreements, including upstream exploration deals, memoranda of understanding, infrastructure partnerships, and investment announcements across the energy value chain.

Over the years, past editions of the conference have hosted the unveiling of major cross-border agreements and sector partnerships, reinforcing its role as a meeting point for project developers, financiers, and governments seeking to accelerate energy development across the continent.

A major highlight of the 2026 edition is the introduction of an AI and Data Centre Stage, described as the first of its kind at the event. The platform will focus on the intersection between energy systems, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure, reflecting growing global interest in the power demands of emerging technologies and data-driven economies.

Organisers say the new feature will expand the scope of discussions beyond traditional oil, gas, and power markets to include how Africa can position itself within the rapidly evolving digital economy while ensuring energy security and investment growth.

AEW 2026 is also expected to attract senior executives from international energy companies, African governments, and technology firms, with sessions focused on investment opportunities, regulatory frameworks, and regional cooperation.

The event is scheduled to take place in Cape Town in October, with registration now open for participants across the global energy and technology sectors.
