Six people were injured after a train derailed in Wellington, New Zealand’s capital, on Saturday, police said.
Emergency services were called to Khandallah Station in a suburban area of Wellington around 7:20 pm local time (0720 GMT) after the train came off the tracks.

Wellington Free Ambulance said all passengers had been evacuated, with injuries ranging from minor to serious.
Wellington City councillor Diane Calvert said she heard a huge short boom at the time of the incident.
An AFP journalist at the scene saw the damaged train tilted off the tracks as emergency workers assessed the situation, with several ambulances and police vehicles deployed to the cordoned-off area.
