The Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that the order for his arrest was pre-planned.

His allegation follows a High Court ruling in Abuja on Tuesday that revoked his bail and ordered his arrest.

In a post shared on X on Tuesday, Sowore said he was present in court on Monday, but the judge was absent, and he requested a new date.

“It has been brought to my notice that the judge presiding over my case concerning Tinubu is a criminal has revoked my bail, despite my presence in court yesterday, when the judge was not in attendance; consequently, we requested a new date,” he said.

“The agenda for today was to consider my application seeking the judge’s recusal, but instead, he opted to revoke my bail in a bid to assert forceful control over the trial.”

He added that he will confront the order for his arrest with “determination and resilience.”

“This was all planned but it shall not prevail. The struggle continues!”

The AAC Presidential Candidate had sent a letter seeking an adjournment, but the SSS counsel opposed the application, arguing that no sufficient reason was provided.

He then asked the court to revoke Sowore’s bail and issue a bench warrant for his arrest, which the court granted.

The State Security Service (SSS) is prosecuting Sowore over allegations that he referred to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu as a “criminal” in posts on his Facebook and X accounts.
