A fire broke out at a Polaris Bank branch on Broad Street at Lagos Island on Thursday, stirring panic among staff and residents in the area.
Videos circulating on social media showed thick smoke billowing from the windows of the high-rise building housing the bank, attracting the attention of passersby and emergency responders.
Eyewitnesses said ambulance services and other emergency personnel were swiftly deployed to the scene.

Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were also seen directing motorists and diverting traffic away from the affected area to ease access for rescue operations.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had not been officially determined. Authorities were yet to provide details on the extent of the damage or whether anyone was injured in the incident.
