The Ogun State Police Command has launched a comprehensive investigation into the killing of a renowned broadcaster and retired Ogun State Television staff member, Mrs Kitan Oyesiku, alongside her security guard.
The 67-year-old broadcaster was reportedly killed in the early hours of Sunday at her residence in Agodo community along the Abeokuta–Siun–Sagamu Expressway in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.
According to a statement by the police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the incident was reported at the Owode-Egba Division on June 21, 2026, after a resident raised the alarm about suspicious activity on the premises.

He said detectives were immediately deployed to the scene, where preliminary findings showed signs of forced entry and disturbance.
“During a thorough search of the premises, the corpse of the security guard was discovered within the security post, while the body of Ms. Oyesiku was later found inside her apartment,” the statement read.
The police added that the victim’s vehicle was missing from the residence, suggesting possible theft after the attack.
The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, has ordered a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to the command, intelligence-led operations have been expanded to track down the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice.
The police also commiserated with the family of the deceased, Ogun State Television, and the media community over the loss.
It urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and to provide any useful information that could assist ongoing investigations.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in Ogun State, Mrs Oluwaseun Boye, described the killing as shocking, callous, and devastating.
