The Oyo State government has extended the 48-hour curfew imposed on 10 local government areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park by an additional 24 hours, officials said on Thursday.
Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde, announced the extension in a memo issued Thursday evening.
The government had imposed a 48-hour curfew from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. in the affected areas on Tuesday.

With the extension, the curfew will now continue until Saturday.
The affected local government areas are Oriire, Orelope, Irepo, Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Olorunsogo and Atiba.
The curfew is part of ongoing state efforts to address kidnapping and other security challenges in communities around the Old Oyo National Park.
