Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has dismissed all political advisers and several senior aides as part of a cabinet reshuffle to strengthen his administration.
The decision was announced on Monday in a statement by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mashood Agboola.
Those relieved of their appointments include all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants, as well as the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary to the governor.
According to the statement, the reshuffle is intended to create opportunities for more members of the ruling party while bringing fresh energy into the administration.
The government also expressed appreciation to the affected officials for their service to the state and wished them success in their future endeavours.

The statement read, “Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved a minor cabinet shake-up involving all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants.
“The decision, which is meant to extend opportunities to more party members and inject fresh energy into the administration, also affected the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.
“His Excellency expresses his gratitude to all the appointees for their priceless service to the state. He wishes them the best in their future endeavours.”
The statement further directed all those affected to hand over government property in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government with immediate effect.
The reshuffle is expected to pave the way for new appointments as the AbdulRazaq administration prepares for the next phase of governance.
