The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun State election, Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Governor Ibikunle Amosun to seek their support and guidance ahead of the poll.
Speaking after his meeting with Obasanjo at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta on Friday, Adeola described the visit as productive, saying the former president shared valuable advice on governance and the future development of Ogun State.
The senator said he would incorporate Obasanjo’s recommendations into his administration’s plans if elected governor in 2027, adding that he also sought the former president’s blessings and moral support.

In his remarks, Obasanjo urged Adeola to remain focused on his political ambition while allowing God’s purpose to guide his journey.
The former president reflected on his own life, noting that although he once hoped to become a geologist, circumstances led him into the military, which he described as God’s plan for his life.
Obasanjo encouraged the APC candidate to pursue his goals with determination while trusting God and the people to shape the outcome.
Adeola later visited Amosun, whom he described as his political leader, saying the meeting formed part of ongoing consultations to strengthen unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Responding, Amosun called on party members to remain united and avoid internal divisions, stressing that good governance should remain the party’s priority.
He expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects and urged members and supporters to continue working together as preparations for the 2027 governorship election gather momentum.
