The Nigerian Government has announced that the final evacuation flight carrying 315 Nigerians from South Africa will arrive on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, the Air Peace flight is scheduled to depart Johannesburg at 1:30 a.m. and arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
“The last and fifth evacuation flight from South Africa operated by Air Peace is expected to depart Johannesburg with 315 returnees on Wednesday 15th July 2026 at 1.30am and the estimated time of arrival at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos is 6.30am,” Ebienfa said.

The Nigerian Government began evacuating Nigerians who expressed interest in returning home following recent xenophobic attacks and growing security concerns in South Africa.
Before the final flight, four evacuation flights had brought 1,141 Nigerians back home since the exercise commenced on June 11, 2026.
In addition, 66 Nigerians were repatriated through the efforts of a private individual, while another 39 returned on an Air Peace flight arranged outside the government’s evacuation programme.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the Nigerian Government’s commitment to protecting Nigerians wherever they reside and expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who supported the evacuation exercise.
