An Enugu Air aircraft has veered off the runway during landing at Benin Airport, with all passengers and crew members safely evacuated.
The airline confirmed the incident in a statement posted on its official X account on Thursday, saying there were no injuries or fatalities.
“All passengers and crew safely disembarked from the aircraft, with no injuries or casualties recorded,” the airline said.
Enugu Air added that the aircraft has been secured and the relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with standard procedures.
“An assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the occurrence is currently underway,” the statement said.
The airline also warned that some flights may be affected as a result of the incident.
“As a result, there may be temporary adjustments to some flight schedules. Passengers affected by any changes will be contacted directly and provided with the necessary assistance,” it added.
Enugu Air said the safety of its passengers, crew and operations remains its top priority and promised to provide further updates through its official channels.
The incident occurred exactly one year after the airline began operations in July 2025.
Enugu Air was launched through a partnership between the Enugu State Government and XE Jet to speed up the process of obtaining an Air Operator Certificate (AOC), with approval from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
