A self-acclaimed spiritualist, Odigie Moses, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged sextortion in Ekpoma, Edo State.

The EFCC, in a statement on Friday, alleged that Moses falsely claimed to possess spiritual healing powers and extorted $1,100 from his victim.

“The suspect, who misrepresented himself on Zelle, a social media platform, as possessing spiritual healing powers, was contacted by his victim, an Indian woman, who was in need of spiritual intervention over some life-threatening challenges,” the EFCC said.

The EFCC said Moseshe will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
