A hospital building in Calabar, Cross River State, has collapsed following a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall and soil erosion.
A video shared on X on Friday showed the building, which had been left precariously suspended after the ground beneath it was washed away, gradually giving way before crashing into the gully below.
The facility was identified as UNICEM Hospital, a healthcare facility serving workers and residents in Calabar.
The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

In the video, the building appeared weakened after the surrounding soil eroded, leaving part of the structure unsupported before it eventually collapsed into the gully.
As of the time of filing this report, the Cross River State Government had not issued an official statement on the incident.
No official confirmation of casualties or injuries from the collapse was available.
