Voters have begun arriving at polling units across Osun State as preparations intensify for today’s governorship election.
In Egbedore Local Government Area, voters were seen waiting to cast their ballots, while electors also gathered at Ward 10, Unit 4 in Ejigbo LGA. At Unit 20, Alajue Ward 4, security personnel were heavily present as officials prepared for the exercise.
In Ede North, preparations were ongoing at Abogunde Compound, Unit 009, with political party agents signing attendance registration forms ahead of accreditation and voting.
INEC officials, party agents and security operatives were also present at Adventist Grammar School Polling Unit 020, Alajue 1, Ede South, as they prepared for the arrival of voters.
In Ward 10, Unit 4, Ejigbo LGA, ad hoc staff have arrived at the polling unit, while voters are also present and waiting for voting to begin.
At the Ward 6 and 8 Registration Area Centre at St Michael Elementary School in Ayedaade Local Government Area, officials were finalising logistics and security arrangements to facilitate the movement of election materials and personnel to various polling units.
An electorate, Gbadebo Tunji Adewale, expressed confidence in the preparations, saying he was ready to cast his vote.
He said the necessary materials had arrived and that the process appeared to be proceeding smoothly, with security personnel also present at the polling location.
Ahead of voting, attention remains on preparations at polling units, the movement of election materials and the conduct of security personnel across the state.
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election on the Accord Party platform, faces challenges from All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Najeem Salaam.
