Afrobeats superstar Davido has doubled down on explosive allegations that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) spent well over N100 billion to influence the outcome of the Osun State governorship election, dismissing earlier estimates as too conservative.
Speaking exclusively to Newscentral TV on Tuesday, Davido rejected reports that APC spent about N60 billion on the election, insisting the real figure was almost double.
“It is more than that. I just confirmed today that APC spent N110 billion. If you see the cash,” he said, warning of the stakes involved. “If they had gotten away with that election, then Nigeria is finished.”

The singer, who has been increasingly vocal on Nigerian political affairs, also turned his attention to the disarray within the country’s opposition ranks, blaming fractured ambitions for the ruling party’s continued dominance.
“The opposition in Nigeria is divided. In the south alone, almost eight people want to be President,” he said. “Why can’t all of you come together and pick one person? If there is unified opposition, the President might have a problem.”
Perhaps most striking were Davido’s claims of behind-the-scenes contact with officials inside the electoral umpire itself. According to him, dissatisfaction with the alleged rigging extended into the ranks of APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“Many people in APC wanted us to win,” he said. “A lot of people in INEC that collected money were DMing me.”
Davido’s comments add fresh fuel to long-running allegations of vote-buying and financial inducement in Nigerian elections, and are likely to intensify scrutiny of the Osun poll’s credibility in the days ahead.
