Troops from the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued six people kidnapped by terrorists on the Dandume-Sheme Road in Katsina State and recovered ₦800,000 taken from the victims.

The operation took place on Saturday, August 22, after troops of Sector 2 received a distress call that terrorists had intercepted a vehicle and abducted its six occupants in Dandume Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the task force’s Media Information Officer, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, the troops immediately moved to the area and engaged the terrorists.

He also urged residents to provide security agencies with “timely and credible information” to support ongoing operations.
