Tinubu to Address Nigerians at 7am on October 1

President Bola Tinubu will address the nation on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 7 a.m. to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

“All television and radio stations, as well as other electronic media outlets, are advised to join the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria for the broadcast,” according to Onanuga.

The address comes as Nigeria marks 66 years since gaining independence from Britain on October 1, 1960.

The day has been declared a public holiday.
