Saudi Arabia has introduced new precautionary travel restrictions to curb risks associated with the Ebola virus following epidemiological assessments by national health authorities.
The directives suspend travel by Saudi citizens to Kenya, halt all visa issuance for individuals coming from Kenya, and bar entry to travellers arriving directly from Kenya or transiting through third countries if they stayed in Kenya or any active outbreak region within the previous 21 days.
The new restrictions expand preventive protocols that Saudi Arabia first implemented in July 2019 and reinforced in May 2026 for arrivals from high-risk countries.

In June 2026, the Kingdom similarly suspended travel to and from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan while tightening surveillance and entry-point screening for travellers from neighbouring areas.

The Public Health Authority emphasised that the domestic health situation inside Saudi Arabia remains stable under constant surveillance.
Health officials confirmed they continue to track regional and international epidemiological trends in coordination with relevant international health agencies to maintain public safety and response readiness.
