Russian forces launched an overnight attack, damaging energy facilities in the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions and striking a key bridge in the Ukrainian capital.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko announced on Telegram that the strikes severely compromised the capital’s power grid, disrupting heating and water supply systems across the city.
Klitschko added that specialist teams are assessing the structural damage to the Northern Bridge, a critical artery spanning the Dnipro River.
The overnight bombardment wounded five people in Kyiv, including a 14-year-old child.

The strikes follow warnings from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding anticipated Russian escalations against civilian infrastructure and energy networks.
As diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict continue, Ukraine braces for another challenging winter under persistent grid-targeted attacks.
