A senior official of the United States Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, has been found dead in his hotel room in a suspected suicide.
Local newspapers report the unidentified officer’s body was found hanging in the room hours after he failed to report to work on Wednesday.
The police say a suicide note was found near his bed, insisting that investigations will determine whether he authored it.
The body has been transferred to a mortuary in Nairobi while authorities launch a probe into the incident.
