Two time champions Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia beat Al-Hilal Omdurman of Sudan 3-1 at Stade Olympique de Sousse.

A Goal from Zied Boughattas, and a brace from Yassine Chikhaoui gave the Tunisian side the lead before a consolation goal from Athar El Tahir ensured the game finished 3-1.

The victory gives Etoile some breathing space heading into the quarter-final second-leg against Al-Hilal in Omdurman next weekend.

Other results saw Nkana of Zambia got a slim 2-1 victory over Tunisian side CS Sfaxien. Gor Mahia of Keenya suffers a 2-0 defeat at home to RSB Berkane of Morocco while Hassania Agadir and Egyptian giants Zamalek played out a goalless draw.

The return leg of all the games will be played on Sunday, 14th April, 2019.
