Amy Hunt Claims European Women's 100m Title

Britain’s Amy Hunt clinched victory in the women’s 100 metres at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham on Monday, clocking a winning time of 11.00 seconds.

She narrowly defeated Poland’s Ewa Swoboda, who took silver in 11.02 seconds, and Belgium’s Delphine Nkansa, who secured bronze in 11.06 seconds.

Season favourite Geraldine di Tizio-Frey finished fourth, while defending champion Dina Asher-Smith placed fifth in the wide-open final.

The Cambridge graduate, who trains in Padua under Italian coach Marco Airale, broke the 11-second barrier for the first time earlier this season in Stockholm.

Her European 100m gold adds to an impressive list of international accolades, including a 2024 European relay gold, a 2024 Paris Olympic relay silver, and a 2025 World Championship 200m silver in Tokyo.
