Lecturers across Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) will immediately resume academic activities after the suspension of their strike action.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) announced the decision in a joint statement signed by Olusegun Babalola (ASUU-LASU), Grace Abimbola (ASUU-LASUED), and Murisiku Onigemo (ASUU-LASUSTECH) following negotiations over staff welfare and outstanding agreements with the Lagos State Government.
The union expressed appreciation to civil society groups, traditional rulers, media outlets, students, and parents for supporting their push for quality public tertiary education.

“Our struggle for improved staff welfare and the implementation of vital academic agreements has reached a significant milestone, largely due to the collective support of well-meaning individuals and organisations.

“As our members return to the classrooms with immediate effect, we reaffirm our commitment to academic excellence and quality university education,” the statement read.
While union leaders directed all faculty members to return to the classroom without delay, ASUU emphasised that discussions with state officials remain ongoing.
The leadership confirmed it will continue engaging the Lagos State Government until authorities fully resolve all outstanding issues regarding member welfare and agreement terms.
