Armed bandits have killed at least 10 people after attacking the grain market in Guga village, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State on Sunday.
A pregnant woman was among those killed in the assault.
The assailants also set several houses ablaze and stole an unspecified number of livestock, including cattle, goats, and sheep.
Eyewitnesses said the bandits invaded the community in broad daylight and fired indiscriminately at traders and residents, operating freely for several hours.

Residents confirmed that the victims were buried on Monday morning in Guga village after a mass funeral held in Gidan Sarkin Noma and Gidan Wawo communities in Bakori LGA.
Locals said many of the deceased were farmers from nearby communities, including Gidan Sarkin Noma and Gidan Wawo, who had come to the market to sell their goods.
Authorities and the police had not issued an official statement at the time of reporting.
Guga village has suffered repeated bandit attacks and kidnappings in recent years, forcing several residents to abandon their homes.
