The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of aviation fuel (Jet A1) from N1,750 to N1,650 per litre to ease pressure on airline operators.
In a statement made available to Punch News on Monday, the company said the adjustment is part of broader measures to stabilise fuel supply and support the aviation sector’s rising operating costs.
It said the price cut also comes with a 30-day interest-free credit facility for marketers and airlines, supported by bank guarantees, alongside a shift from dollar-based pricing to a naira-denominated structure.
The refinery said the interventions are designed to ease cost burdens on airlines and ensure steady fuel availability across the country.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has reduced the price of aviation fuel (Jet A1) to N1,650 per litre from N1,750 per litre in a move aimed at easing cost pressures on airlines and ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply across the country.

“This is in addition to a 30-day interest-free credit facility backed by bank guarantees (BG) for marketers and airline operators and a shift from a dollar-denominated pricing structure to a naira-based model,” the statement read in part.
The development comes as complaints from airline operators increase over a sharp rise in aviation fuel prices, which they say have strained operations and raised the risk of service disruptions.
Industry stakeholders had previously warned that rising Jet A1 costs were putting pressure on flight operations and could affect the sustainability of domestic carriers.
The latest price adjustment is expected to offer some relief to operators and help stabilise air transport costs.
According to the airlines, fuel prices have skyrocketed from about N900 per litre before the crisis to between N2,700 and N2,900, with some marketers selling as high as N3,300.
