Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has been honoured as the Ligue 1 player of the year for the second consecutive season, playing a pivotal role in the club’s pursuit of a 14th French title and a spot in the Champions League final.
The 28-year-old forward joins an elite group of just five players to achieve back-to-back wins, a feat last accomplished by Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2014.
Despite his success, Dembele remained humble, crediting his teammates for the individual recognition.
This year’s achievement is particularly notable as Dembele battled through an injury-laden campaign.
He managed only nine league starts—nearly half of his total from the previous season—and saw a decrease in his overall goal and assist tally.

Nevertheless, his impact on the pitch remained undeniable, contributing 10 goals and six assists to keep PSG at the top of the standings.
The club is now on the verge of officially securing its fifth consecutive league title, holding a six-point lead over Lens with a superior goal difference.
In addition to the domestic success, PSG are preparing for a high-stakes Champions League final against Arsenal later this month.
The awards ceremony also celebrated PSG’s Desire Doue as the best young player, while Lens manager Pierre Sage was named coach of the year for his team’s impressive challenge to the reigning champions.
