The Department of State Services (DSS) operatives and other security agencies have rescued a 29-year-old man abducted by suspected kidnappers in Imo State.
The victim was kidnapped at about 7 pm on Tuesday, near Afor-Ogidi Market in Isiala Amaifeke Community, Orlu Local Government Area.
He was reportedly returning from the International Market, Umuna, Orlu, when armed men on two motorcycles intercepted his vehicle and forced him into an undisclosed location.
The kidnappers later contacted his family and demanded ₦15 million ransom for his release.
However, security operatives, working with local vigilantes, rescued the victim during a coordinated operation in Ihioma Community, Orlu, in the early hours of Thursday.

The DSS said two suspected members of the kidnapping syndicate were neutralised during the operation.
Two high-calibre weapons and ammunition were also recovered.
The victim was taken into protective custody before being reunited with his family.
The DSS said the operation showed the importance of cooperation among security agencies and local vigilante groups in tackling kidnapping in Imo State.
Security agencies have intensified intelligence gathering, surveillance and joint operations across the state while efforts continue to arrest other members of the syndicate.
The agencies urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information that could help prevent kidnapping and other violent crimes.
