Rwanda has introduced temporary travel restrictions barring passengers arriving from or transiting through the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) as part of public health measures to prevent the spread of the virus into the country.
The country’s Ministry of Health, in a statement issued on Friday, assured the public that there are currently no cases of Ebola in Rwanda and announced that all foreign nationals who have travelled to or transited through the DRC in the past 30 days will be barred from entering Rwanda.
“All foreign nationals who have travelled to, or transited through, the DRC within the last thirty (30) days prior to their intended travel to Rwanda will be denied entry,” the ministry said in a statement.

“Rwandan nationals and foreign residents with valid proof of residency in Rwanda will be permitted entry. However, those who have travelled to or transited through the DRC within the same thirty (30)-day period will be subject to mandatory quarantine procedures in line with public health protocols.”
