Former Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has been taken to the hospital after falling unwell at Old Trafford shortly before the Premier League clash between Manchester United and Liverpool on Sunday.
Sources close to the situation have described the move as a precaution rather than an urgent one, stressing that the 84-year-old’s condition did not present as a medical emergency.
Ferguson, who remains a regular presence at Old Trafford, had been at the stadium earlier in the day and was seen interacting with guests in the directors’ box just hours before kick-off.
The former United manager, widely regarded as one of the most successful figures in football history, was later transported by ambulance from the stadium to the hospital after reportedly feeling unwell. While details of his illness have not been disclosed, those familiar with the situation maintain that there is no immediate cause for alarm.

Ferguson’s health has been closely followed in recent years, particularly after he suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2018 that required emergency surgery and an extended period of recovery. Reflecting on that experience in 2021, he spoke candidly about the challenges of rehabilitation and the support he received during that time.
Club officials have expressed cautious optimism about his current condition, expecting he will recover quickly and return home in due course. However, no formal medical update has been issued since his hospital admission.
Ferguson managed Manchester United for 27 years, overseeing one of the most dominant eras in English football, and continues to hold an influential presence within the club.
