The last two evacuation flights for passengers and crew from the hantavirus-stricken vessel, MV Hondius, arrived in the Netherlands on Tuesday.
According to the Dutch foreign ministry, the aircraft transported a total of 28 individuals, including a mix of travellers, ship staff, and specialised medical personnel.
The first flight delivered six passengers—four Australians, one New Zealander, and a British national residing in Australia.
Dressed in white protective medical overalls and masks, the group was seen entering the terminal carrying their personal items in white bags.
They are scheduled to undergo a period of isolation at a quarantine site near the airport before beginning their journey back to Australia.
The second aircraft carried 19 crew members alongside a British physician and two epidemiologists from the WHO and the ECDC.
Unlike the first group, these crew members did not wear full medical gear but remained masked as they disembarked.
Meanwhile, the MV Hondius is currently en route from Tenerife to Rotterdam for full disinfection.
Twenty-five crew members and two medical staff remain on the ship, which is also transporting the remains of a German passenger who passed away during the trip.
