Football Legend Kevin Keegan Dies at 75

Former Liverpool and England football icon Kevin Keegan died at age 75 on Monday following a battle with stage four cancer, his family announced.

The two-time Ballon d’Or winner passed away surrounded by his wife and daughters after undergoing treatment since January.

Keegan built a celebrated playing career, winning three English top-flight titles, an FA Cup, and the 1977 European Cup with Liverpool.

He later moved to German club Hamburg, where he secured the Bundesliga title and earned back-to-back European Player of the Year awards in 1978 and 1979 before ending his playing days with Southampton and Newcastle United.

Following his retirement as a player, Keegan transitioned to management in 1992, steering Newcastle United back into the Premier League and mounting a famous title challenge in 1996.

He went on to manage Fulham, Manchester City, and the England national team, earning tributes from Prince William, major English clubs, and former players across the sport.
