The game in Paris was held under heavy security following last week’s violent incidents involving fans of Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv in Amsterdam.
After Maccabi’s Europa League clash with Ajax, fans were reportedly attacked, prompting Amsterdam’s mayor, Femke Halsema, to condemn the attacks as a poisonous cocktail of anti-Semitism and hooliganism.
Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were filmed chanting anti-Arab and anti-Palestine chants and reportedly attacked a taxi driver.
