Hayatu-Deen Joins ADC Presidential Race

Former presidential aspirant and banker Mohammed Hayatu-Deen has officially declared his intention to contest Nigeria’s presidency on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying the country needs a new direction capable of delivering security, stability, and economic prosperity.

Hayatu-Deen announced the decision after collecting his nomination form to become the ADC’s presidential flagbearer.

In a post shared on his official X account, the businessman and politician said his decision was driven by what he described as the urgent need for national renewal.

“I’ve now collected my nomination form to be the ADC’s presidential flagbearer,” he wrote.

He added, “I am running because Nigeria deserves better. And because the ADC is the only vehicle through which we can deliver a safer and prosperous Nigeria.”

His declaration adds to growing political conversations as parties continue consultations and preparations ahead of the next general election cycle. Hayatu-Deen, who previously contested the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary in 2022, has often positioned himself as an advocate for economic reform, institutional accountability, and private sector-driven development.

His latest move is expected to place more attention on the ADC as political alignments and coalition talks continue across the country. Political observers are also expected to watch closely how the ADC positions itself in the coming months as more aspirants declare their intentions and alliances begin to take shape.
