Ikeja Electric Plc has attributed the reduction in electricity supply hours across its network to a shortfall in the amount of power currently allocated to the distribution company from the national grid.

The DisCo disclosed this in a public notice issued by its management and shared on its X  (formerly Twitter) page on Monday.

According to the company, the lower allocation from the national grid has resulted in fewer hours of electricity supply for customers across its network.

Ikeja Electric acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the reduced supply and appealed to customers for patience and understanding.

“We wish to inform customers across Ikeja Electric network that the reduced hours of electricity supply is due to a shortfall in the amount of power currently allocated to our network from the national grid.

“We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding,” the notice read.

The company said it was engaging relevant stakeholders to improve the amount of electricity available to its network, while assuring customers that it would continue distributing the power received from the national grid as efficiently and fairly as possible.

It also pledged to provide further updates as the situation develops.

“Please be assured that we are actively engaging the relevant stakeholders to improve the available power supply and will continue to distribute the power received from the grid as efficiently and equitably as possible,” it added.
