The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has restored its Central Admissions Processing System following a temporary disruption.
JAMB, in a statement on Monday, said the system was “fully restored and is now operational”, urging tertiary institutions to accelerate their admission processes to recover lost time and meet the approved deadlines.
The board said, “With CAPS back online, institutions are urged to accelerate their admission processes to recover lost time and meet the agreed admission deadlines.”
JAMB also advised candidates to promptly accept admission offers made to them.
It announced October 31, 2026, as the deadline for the 2026/2027 admission exercise for public universities, while private universities have until November 30.
The deadline for other tertiary institutions is December 31, 2026.
The board also urged candidates who had previously been awaiting their results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council Senior School Certificate Examination results.
JAMB said the step was necessary to ensure that candidates’ credentials were available for consideration as institutions intensified their admission processes.
The statement read, “JAMB wishes to inform candidates, institutions and other stakeholders that the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) has been fully restored and is now operational, following the temporary disruption.”
It added, “Following the release of the 2026 NECO SSCE results, candidates who previously awaited their results are advised to upload and/or verify them promptly to ensure their credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes.”
The board apologised for the inconvenience caused by the disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
JAMB urged all stakeholders to take advantage of the restoration of CAPS and proceed with the admission process within the approved timelines.
