Kaduna Police Nab 19, Recover ₦78 Million Loot

The Kaduna State Police Command says it has neutralised notorious kidnappers, arrested 19 suspects and recovered stolen property worth about ₦78 million during coordinated operations carried out across the state in the past two weeks.

Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad disclosed this while briefing journalists at the Command Headquarters in Kaduna on Tuesday, describing the operations as a major breakthrough in the fight against crime.

According to him, the command arrested 16 suspected kidnappers and three suspected gunrunners, while recovering 190 stolen solar inverters valued at ₦69 million and 10 lithium batteries worth about ₦9 million.

Other recoveries include 10 firearms of different calibres, 170 counterfeit US dollar notes, 83 packs of hard drugs, 32 stolen mobile phones, two plasma television sets, a stolen Toyota Sienna vehicle and more than 400 rustled cattle.

Muhammad said investigations into a counterfeit currency syndicate began after the arrest of a 20-year-old woman allegedly attempting to exchange fake US dollars for naira, leading to the arrest of other suspects.

He added that operatives also arrested three suspected gunrunners in Plateau State and recovered locally made pistols.

The commissioner urged residents to continue providing credible intelligence, assuring them that the command would sustain efforts to combat criminal activities across Kaduna State.
