Kenya plans to issue an $815 million Eurobond during the second quarter of its 2026/27 fiscal year, according to a Finance Ministry borrowing plan released on Friday.
The document also reveals that the East African nation intends to raise an additional $500 million through Samurai bonds in the third quarter.
Faced with high public debt and heavy repayment obligations, the government continues to seek alternative financing avenues to fund infrastructure investments and critical development spending.

As part of these broader funding efforts, the Finance Ministry confirmed that Kenya will proceed with a previously announced $1 billion debt-for-food security swap with the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation.
